Loungers Guest House quirky, Broadstairs accommodation, Kent

About Loungers

Quirky stay at Loungers

Step back in time when you stay in one of the 3 individually themed bedrooms, in this quaint, quirky,19th century Georgian Townhouse. Just a few steps  from the beautiful, sandy, blue flag beach of Viking Bay, One of 7 sandy bays here in Broadstairs.

Loungers  offers you just a little something different to your average guest house.

Formerly known as Salon Bohemia, I (Michelle) took over the premises in April 2017.  Keeping the themed rooms, I hope you find them comfortable, clean and that you have a nice stay here in Broadstairs.

Each room has its own private bathroom.   Please be aware there is limited wardrobe space. I have added extra hooks and hangers for those who like to pack heavy :)

Each room has a double bed

Flat screen TV

DVD Player and choice of dvds

Air coolers/heating

Tea and coffee making facilities

Ensuite with rolltop bath, toilet, sink. The baths each have a shower attachment, quite powerful. However this cannot be used standing up.  If you are looking for ultra modern, wet rooms etc, this guest house is not for you.  The baths are deep and very relaxing.  I provide bubble bath, shower gel and towels etc.

Just a 7 minute walk from Broadstairs station and 10 seconds walk to the beach, Loungers offers you quirky, cosy seaside accommodation in the heart of this vibrant and historical town on the east coast of Kent.

Every Friday and Saturday from 6pm till midnight I have a pop-up bar in the lounge.  Also right opposite are 2 very popular drinking holes, The 39 Steps Ale House and The Charles Dickens pub. This can get a bit noisy, especially weekends and festivals.  If you want peace and quiet, avoid these times.  The noise usually stops around midnight.   The Seagulls are quite noisy too.  Monday to Friday I offer personal training on my Vibrogym.  If you're interested in having a go while you are  here, please let me know in advance, if possible.

Very close by too are Tescos, Savers, Boots and other handy shops. So no need to fret if you forget something.  I also keep a stock of toiletries, should you need.

Breakfast (Most important meal of the day :)

You can choose to have bed and breakfast or a room only rate, breakfast can be paid for should you wish to have it here, if your rate doesn't include breakfast, it is £10 per person. I offer a cooked, ie English, Eggs Benedict/Royale, eggs any style on toast etc or Continental, and includes orange juice, coffee or tea. It is served between 8.30 and 9.30am (earlier times can be arranged if needed)

There are also some other great places to eat breakfast in quaint Broadstairs. If you fancy a bit of variety or wanted a lie in. The Albion Hotel has a wonderful setting overlooking Viking Bay. When the sun is out, it is perfect. A little more casual but right on the beach in the next bay along to the right is Louisa Bay, one of my favourites for a bacon sandwich and a good cuppa. Wyatt and Jones do a fab breakfast too, my favourite is the smoked breakfast, fishy and fantastic.   If you are feeling energetic, then a 20 mins walk into Ramsgate will also give you some nice places to go for breaky.

A good variety, I hope, there for you.

The Victorian.  This double bedroom has a side sea view with a lovely bay window viewing Viking Bay. The bed has a wooden frame and from time to time may creak, most guests never mention it but occasionally I do have one or two who do.  Please bear it in mind, the furnishings are genuine antique.  With a small bathroom, large, deep rolltop bath, WC and sink.  The bedroom is the largest of all three rooms but has the smallest bathroom.

Fancy sleeping like a royal from the Qing Dynasty of early 19th century China? This small double room hosts a  beautiful, wooden carved, semi-enclosed canopy bed. A  very romantic bedroom.  The ensuite has a lovely big and very deep rolltop bath, toilet and sink.

The Moulin Rouge, a very pretty bedroom with French furnishings. Also ensuite with rolltop bath etc.

Champagne, Prosecco, flowers and/or chocolates can be arranged)

Please note there is no stand up shower.  All rooms have a lovely bathtup with a shower attachement that cannot be used standing up.  You have to relax and chill out in the deep luxurious rolltops.

My Cats

Simba, Cookie, Tigger and Blue also welcome you to their home. They love a cuddle and a tickle behind their ears but we do not allow them into the bedrooms  (except mine:))
